Welcome to The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, generally and fondly known as Carolina, chartered in 1789. Carolina became the first state university in the nation, and in the past two centuries has trained almost a quarter of a million people. Today the University’s enrollment is approximately 29.000 students studying in more than 100 fields.
The University offers 71 baccalaureate, 107 masters and 74 doctoral degrees, in addition to professional degrees in dentistry, medicine, public health, business, law, public administration and library science.
